Jon and Daniels Racing Team 2011
RACE REPORT – ASBK Championship Rd 5 – Phillip Island 18-20th November 2011
DANIEL FALZON and the JON DANIELS RACING TEAM have finished the season on a high, taking out 2nd place in the 600cc Superstock ASBK Championship, in their debut year. The weekend saw two race wins for Daniel, his first in the ASBK series.
An unusual race schedule for the final round of the series held at Phillip Island had qualifying late in the day on Friday. Daniel found the wet/dry conditions challenging, although early in the day saw a personal best time of 1:39.988 , he was not able to get a clear lap in resulting in a 7th starting position for the remainder of the weekend.
Not to be deterred Daniel came back more determined on Saturday. As had been threatening all day, the skies opened just before the first race which caused havoc in the field of racers who could not decide upon wet or dry tyres and saw many come in desperately after the warm up lap, to change bikes.
A spectacular performance from Daniel who managed to power through the pouring rain to a comfortable second place then at the last turn took charge to take the lead from Sean Condon, and the win just over the finish line.
“I knew I could do it, I hadn’t had a win for the season and I desperately wanted it. He (Sean) was in my sights and I knew my bike was set up well for the conditions and had the confidence in the tyres to take the risk and push it a little harder through turn 12” – Daniel
Day three was again a winner, coming home with a strong second place and another win in race 3, taking Daniel’s final point score to 266 and securing the 2nd place Championship.

RACE REPORT – ASBK Championship Rd 4 – Queensland Raceway 3-5th June 2011
Round 4 of the 600 superstock challenge at sunny Queensland raceway proved a winner for DANIEL FALZON and the JON DANIELS RACING TEAM.
A trio of 2nd places had Daniel finishing overall 2nd for the weekend. Following fellow Yamaha rider Mike Jones in each race, Daniel showed his ever improving race skill by taking the lead at one stage and narrowing the gap to just 0.40/second to cross the line in the last race.
Words from Daniel –
“Great weekend… loved the track, haven’t been up to Qld raceway before so I found it quite challenging. I managed my best time a 1:14.6 in the last lap of the final race, so I think given more time I could improve on that. We changed suspension settings many times over the weekend but apart from that the bike rode well… really happy with the final results”.
Although this round saw Mike Jones take the series Championship, it also carried Daniel to 2nd place with 7 points over Mark Wilkinson, entering the final round at Phillip Island later in the year.
A very excited Jon Daniels team send a special thanks to YRD and SW Racing for their help trackside and to Yamaha Pitmans, Berik leathers & Belray for their ongoing support & welcome new sponsor Shark helmets.
Jon and Daniel Sponsorship 2007-2010
We started supporting Jon and Daniel Falzon and the Jon Daniels racing team in 2007 when the team bought a blueprint engineering race prepared 2000 R6 from us for Jon to start bracket racing.
In 2008 the Jon Daniels racing team bought a CBR150 for Daniel to race in the national MRRDA junior race series
Blueprint Engineering maintained both the R6 and CBR150 throughout the 2008 and the 2009 seasons setting up the both bikes suspension, general maintenance after each race and a number of crash repairs and also manufactured rear sets and handle bars for both bikes.
Jon had some great results racing in brackets and some very good lap times while studying mechanical engineering.
Daniel finished 7th in the 2008 season and won the MRRDA CBR150 junior National Championship in the 2009 season.
The JD team also ran a HONDA RS125 in the 2009 season with Daniel ridding and supported and tuned by Dave Atkinson from Mount Gambier Motorcycle club with Blueprint Engineering Polishing and Painting the wheels and Repairing and polishing the Swing arm and Chassis and won the Hartwell Victorian GP125 Open Championship and the South Australian GP125/250 Championship
In 2010 the team bought a Blueprint Engineering race prepared 2008 Honda CBR600RR for Daniel to race in the AFXC FX600 National Championship. Daniel took on the challenge of moving into the bigger 600 class like the true champion that he is and looked comfortable from the first day we went out testing.
Throughout the year Blueprint Engineering did all the maintenance and crash repairs including Motojig chassis and swingarm repairs, suspension and setup advise.
After a year of lots of late nights in the workshop and long days at the track and lots of travelling for the Jon Daniels race team Daniel made it worth all the effort for every one by winning the D grade championship and finishing 4th overall in the FX 600 class.
Not Bad for a 16year old in only his first year on a 600 and only his third year road racing. With the endless amount of natural talent Daniel has and the immaculate and professional Jon Daniels Racing team behind him these guys are going places so get on board and support them while you can.
Sean’s Sponsorship 2008
During the 2007 season Sean was always at the track helping out with our race team and during that time he made it very clear that he wanted to go racing.
With very little previous experience ridding road or dirt bikes at all we went sure how it would go. But after giving him a ride on a couple of our bikes at track days it was clear that he had natural talent and was willing to listen when given advice. And also gave good feedback about the handling problems the bike would have.
This was exciting for me as I was still adapting to the challenge of setting a bike up from the rider’s feedback and not ridding it myself. So to have a rider willing to listen to advice and also have the ability to explain what the bike was doing on the track so I could make the correct adjustments
At the start of 2008 a very neglected 2004 CBR600RR ex race bike showed up for the right money. So after a team meeting at the Jetty Bar and a few quiet drinks with Sean we decided to buy the bike and run a two bike team with Scott and Sean.
After a complete tear down of the bike and the realigning of the chassis in the Motojig and repairing other damaged parts.
Sean had a great year and wasn’t distracted by other peoples opinion’s at the track on how they thought a bike should be set up. He just focused on the team around him and listened to my advice and would do every thing that was asked.
During the year Sean had some great results which included winning the first three Bracket races we entered and getting his lap times down to a very respectful and consistent 13.1,s at Mallala. Great job for his first year road racing.
Scotts Sponsorship 2007- 2008
Scott bought a Blueprint Engineering Race prepared 2006 R6 in super stock race trim at the start of 2007. Over that year we worked with Scott to develop the bike into a supersport spec bike fitting a range of YEC parts and other parts and dyno tuned etc.
With many hours spent at the track and long nights in the workshop the rewards came at the end of 2007 when the team finished second in the south Australian supersport championship.
